Description

A Muffle Furnace in other words a Muffle oven is a heating chamber (furnace) in what the sample material is segregated from the fuel including the outputs of combustion, along with gases and flying ash. Subsequently the invention of high-temperature heating elements together with massive electrification in first world countries, muffle furnaces quickly moved to electric option.

In electrically heated Muffle Furnaces the heating byproducts (i.e. byproducts caused by the heating process) are negligible for most processes. An electrical Muffle Furnace gets heated up by convection, blackbody radiation or conduction processes. None of them generate combustion byproducts and these designs now allow greater temperature uniformity and assure isolation of the heated materials from combustion adulterates.

Important Notes :

• To ensure longivity of the furnace components, a maximum heating rate of 10°C per minute must be maintained. Highest advised cooling rate is also 10°C /minute.
• Cracks may be seen on the surface of the refractory. It is quite natural for continious exposure to high temperature, it can be fixed with alumina coating.
• This Muffle Furnace not having a vacuum sealing, not recommended to use toxic or explosive gasses without necessary safety controls & supervision.
