This furnace uses a bath of molten salt (like chloride or cyanide salts) as the heating medium. Operating at temperatures such as 600°C, it provides extremely rapid and uniform heat transfer. The working principle involves immersing parts directly into the molten salt, which heats them quickly and evenly from all sides. Operating at temperatures such as 600°C, it provides extremely rapid and uniform heat transfer. The working principle involves immersing parts directly into the molten salt, which heats them quickly and evenly from all sides. Its purpose is for quenching, austempering, martempering, and annealing of tool steels and other alloys, as well as for cleaning and descaling. The Salt Bath Furnace is available in 9 temperature configurations ranging from 600°C to 1300°C. Each temperature variant is engineered with appropriate thermocouple and heating element technology.
